Pamela Charekwa

Pamela Charekwa stage name RUTENDO (faith) born on the 21st of January 1991 is a Mbira player and a poet. Born in Marondera Zimbabwe, Rutendo was involved in her church choir, school choir, and college musical activities. She also did a Diploma in Secondary Education majoring in Clothing & Textiles and Music. In 2013 she led a traditional dance group at Girls High School Harare. The group participated in the very first Carnival held in Harare Zimbabwe and scooped a price of US$10 000. Rutendo started writing poems in 2019.She wrote several poems which are published on ZimWriters’ website.  In December 2019 Rutendo participated at The Pan African Cultural Experience (TPACE) held at Freedom Park Pretoria. She managed to collaborate with a Marimba group called Rhythm Africa Art.
